ALLAMA IQBAL

Allama Iqbal, a great poet-philosopher and an active political leader was born in 1873, in Sialkot in the Punjab.

Hakim-ul-Ummat Allama Dr. Mohammad Iqbal was the first to give a concrete shape to the Muslim aspirations in India for a separate homeland, and defined its geographical boundaries as clearly and unambiguously as it could be possible.

He initiated his education from traditional Mukatab. Subsiquently he joined the Sialkot Mission School, from where he passed his matriculation examination. In 1897, he obtained Bachelor of Arts Degree from the Government College, Lahore.

In 1899 , he attained his Master's Degree and was appointed in the Oriental College, Lahore, as a lecturer in History, Philosophy and English. Thereafter he decided to go to Europe to continue his higher studies. Having obtained a degree at Cambridge. He then, what he dreamt of , secured his doctorate at Munich and finally he was able to qualify as a barrister.
when he came back to India he preffered to write poetry than teaching and practicing Law.

He resigned from the Government service in 1911 and took to the propagation of his individual thinking to the Muslims through his poetry.

He was a profound thinker who believed in dynamism, and throughout his poetry he placed the greatest emphasis on action, interpreting it as a movement.

Famous Kalam of Allama Iqbal.

Aik hon Muslim Harrum ki pasbani kay leeyay
Neel ke Sahil say lay kar tab khakay kashghar

Fard Qaim Rabt-e-Millat say hay, tanha kuch nahi
Moj hay Darya may or bayroon-e-Darya Kuch nahi

Manfay-at aik hay is qaum ki nuqsaan bhi aik
Aik hay sab ka Nabi, Deen bhi eeman bhi aik
Harrum Pak bhi Allah bhi Quran bhi aik
Kuch bari baat thi hotay jo Musalman bhi Aik
