H.R.H. the Agha Khan
was a leader of Muslim public and political opinion.
In 1906, he led the historic Simla Deputation, to the
then Viceroy Lord Mintom, and presented to him a Memorandum
which demanded separate electorate and safeguard of
Muslim rights.
The Agha Khan joined the Muslim League and was its permanent
President from 1909 ti 1914. He came into close touch
with Sir Syed Ahmed Khan who sought his help to make
the cherished dream of a Muslim University a reality.
The Agha Khan worked with missionary zeal for the foundation
of the Muslim University.
He also presided over the All India Muslim League Conference
in 1928 and led the Muslim Delegation at the Round Table
Conference held in London from 1930-32.
